First time blogger
My first post on my blog. Yippee! Now I don't have to clutter your inboxes w/ updates. There was an earthquake in AK on the 9th at 6:49 am. Registered 5.7 in the Richter scale. Originated 57 miles west of Haines, which is something like 65 miles north of Juneau (i'm guesstimating). My first real live earthquake and I slept right through it. Bugger!
I finally have all the stuff to make coffee. First I bought the creamer (the most important part). Then I unpacked the coffee maker (which I found out I neglected to remove the old filter from when I packed it up last winter). Then I bought coffee a few days ago and finally today I bought some filters for it. Maybe now I'll be awake for the next earthquake.

Ha, first to comment. I win. Love you. :)
Wow! slept through an earthquake!! Maybe you should have a double shot latte so you can write home about it!!
But seriously what is Juneau's emergency response system for this type of earthquake?
The quake was far enough away that no cities reported any damage. Last night there was an emergency message on the TV b/c of the 8 point something earthquake near Japan. They said there was a Tsunami warning for Juneau that would hit at 3:10 am and to stay tuned for possible evacuation messages. I was freaking out. I pictured huge waves engulfing my truck and floodwaters slowly rising to my bedroom.
I changed the channel to the news and they only offered breaking news and another ominous report. When they got more info they reported Japan was receiving Tsunami waves of a whopping 4 inches and that Juneau MAY expect a Tsunami of up to 4 feet above sea level, if any.
4" might swamp some of these short Japs
I forgot sugar for my coffee. How come no one reminded me?
I didn't know you drank coffee. It's yucky stuff.
It's mostly creamer w/ two heaping spoons of coffee.
Heaping is exaggerating.
Hmmmm. Whenever someone asks, "Would you like a little coffee with your cream?" I always say no. So Frank, I gotta say I'm with my sister on this one.
